Longview police say one of the two victims in Tuesday’s stabbing is dead, and the suspect remains at large.
The stabbing occurred in the early afternoon at a Longview home near the Mint Valley Golf Course.
Both victims were found inside the residence by responding police officers, according to a 5 p.m. Tuesday department notice. One victim was dead and the other critically injured.
The suspect fled by vehicle before their arrival. No arrests have been made, the report continues.
The department did not respond to updates as of The Daily News’ Wednesday afternoon deadline.
Huhta said law enforcement received the call at about 11:55 a.m. and arrived in the 100 block of Terumi Lane.
Detectives and patrol officers launched an investigation at the scene.
Longview police, as well as Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office vehicles, were at the nearby intersection of Regency Place and Pennsylvania Street that afternoon.

As of 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, a Longview Police Department mobile command vehicle was stationed outside the home.
A single yellow caution tape wrapped around the property, where two vehicles, a red Volkswagen Beetle and a green Toyota SUV, were parked in the driveway.
People in Washington State Patrol crime lab jackets were seen leaving the home.
